Donald Trump says ‘markets would crash’ if Democrats impeach him in furious tweetstorm which also retweets an anti-vaxxer for the second day in a row

Donald Trump spent his morning in hand-to-hand combat with Democrats as his acting Director of National Intelligence testified on Capitol Hill about the administration’s attempt to block Congress from getting its hands on an unflattering whistle-blower complaint.

Trump claimed in tweets that the stock market would crash if Democrats were to impeach him over the action at the center of the complaint – a favor he asked of Ukraine’s president during a conversation about military aid and government corruption.

‘If they actually did this the markets would crash. Do you think it was luck that got us to the best Stock Market and Economy in our history. It wasn’t!’ he said.

Donald Trump spent his morning in hand-to-hand combat with Democrats as his acting Director of National Intelligence testified on Capitol Hill about the administration’s attempt to block Congress from getting its hands on an unflattering whistle-blower complaint

On a morning when no White House or campaign officials appeared on television, the U.S. president and his son, Donald Trump, Jr., took a tag-team approach to rebutting Democrats and refuting negative coverage.

The strategy led the president for the second time in two days to retweet an anti-vaxxer who supports him.

Trump hit back at Democrats in the wave of tweets on Thursday morning from his New York City penthouse, where he’s been staying this week amid the United Nations General Assembly.

‘THE DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING TO DESTROY THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND ALL THAT IT STANDS FOR. STICK TOGETHER, PLAY THEIR GAME, AND FIGHT HARD REPUBLICANS. OUR COUNTRY IS AT STAKE!’ he said.

Donald Trump Jr. said in a message that the president also shared, ‘Yikes! I guess the Dems no longer want to do anything about election interference.’

The president eventually had to abandon the conversation to attend a political fundraiser at Cipriani, an upscale restaurant in Manhattan. He was due to arrive aback at the White House at 1 pm.

His White House attempted to go about business as usual, holding a rare briefing from its press room with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement acting director Matt Albence, who outlined an operation to deport criminal immigrants.

Albence argued that the operation was urgent and ICE was not in a position to delay.

‘We started planning this several weeks ago,’ he told a reporter who asked why the White House held the briefing concurrent with the DNI’s congressional testimony.

Acting DNI Joseph Maguire was fending off congressional questioning about the way the intelligence agency handled a complaint from a whistle-blower who claimed that Trump’s conversation in July with Ukraine’s president made White House aides uncomfortable.

He reminded the foreign leader of the nation’s debt of gratitude to the United States and asked him to investigate actions taken by a political opponent.

Trump requested that Ukraine work with his attorney general and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani to investigate allegations that Joe Biden withheld funds from the country until it fired a prosecutor as part of a pay for play scheme involving the former vice president’s son.

Amid the testimony, and Trump’s tweets, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped below 27,000 and dropped more than 150 points.

Trump summed up the whistle-blower scandal in a retweet of an anti-vaxxer defending him that the president tacked onto and stated: ‘So bad for our Country!
